A year in review

Monday November 26, 2018

What a fast-paced and exciting year it has been. This is the most impressive year we have seen as a company. This prospect only makes us more excited for what 2019 is shaping up to be.

So much has gone on this year and we think there are many major events that need to be noted.

  1. In March - our business development team travelled to tier 1 Chinese cities to be apart of the Hema Seafood Showcase. This enabled us to continue growing our relationship with the Alibaba chain of Hema stores.

  2. Meeting The CEO (Daniel Zhang) of Alibaba Group was a true highlight for our CEO - Alan Buckner in April this year. The e-commerce giant proves to be the main connector with the Chinese markets. Being able to met the CEO himself, allowed us as a company to develop how we can improve and establish a dominant position within the chinese market by placing importance on supply chain transparency to verify food safety and provenance.

  3. Being introduced on to the menu of one of the most popular restaurants in Arrowtown was a monumental obstacle signalling the growth, popularity and quality of our brand on our homeland.

  4. Mid September we were named the official partner of the Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open and alongside of that we will also support the New Zealand National Badminton Team contesting the Sudirman Cup in 2019. In innovative partnership allows us as a company to be connected with local and international markets especially our dominant market china - in which badminton is a prominent sport.

  5. In late September - The Staying Afloat Gala Night held in Tasmania to raise money to support mental health within the fishing industry. The South Australian Lobster Company donated $2,000 of Lobster for the event and also purchased tickets in support of the event.

  6. In late September we commissioned a local chinese chef - Chef Reggie Li to produce Wild Legend Lobster cooking videos wich allows chefs and ‘at home’ chefs to follow the instructions and create their own takes on crowd favourites.

We are so proud to include you all in our journey, and are excited at the prospects of what 2019 is shaping up to be.
